"Cacophony"

There are voices that follow women throughout their lives. Some are spoken aloud. Others are inherited, absorbed, and carried so long they become indistinguishable from our own.

They tell us to be smaller....kinder...quieter. More accommodating. More invisible. More grateful. More beautiful. More patient. More selfless. They ask us to carry the emotional weight of families, relationships, workplaces, and communities while expecting us to do so without complaint.

Over time, those voices accumulate...They overlap. They compete. They drown one another out until they become a relentless noise. All day...everyday...too much labor....they are getting fucking tired. 

A cacophony.

This figure is not one woman, but many. She embodies the exhaustion of generations who have borne the invisible labor of caring, sacrificing, enduring, and persevering. Bent beneath the weight of expectation, she remains suspended between collapse and resilience, carrying burdens that are often unseen yet deeply felt.

The absence of a face is intentional. It allows the figure to become universal—a reflection of countless women past, present, and future whose stories echo within one another.

Cacophony is both an acknowledgment and an act of witness. It honors the voices that have been ignored, dismissed, silenced, or spoken over—and the women who continue to rise despite the noise.
